When working in Japan, be aware of unexpected pitfalls (Part 2)

If foreigners try to live in Japan with insufficient communication, which is a barrier to Japanese, there are many problems. Then, if you can speak Japanese fluently, will your business succeed?

This time, I will introduce the case where americans struggled.

There seems to be a unique Japanese culture or japanese way of doing things, and it seems to have to be careful enough.

外国人がいこくじんが「コミュニケーション」が  不十分ふじゅうぶんなまま、 日本にほんに  住すもうとすると、いろいろと  問題もんだいが  起おきます。

それでは、  日本にほん語ごが  スムーズに  喋しゃべれれば  ビジネス  [仕事しごと]は  うまく  いくのでしょうか。

今回こんかいは  アメリカ人じんが  悪戦苦闘あくせんくとうした  例れいを  紹介しょうかいします。

独特どくとくの  日本にほん文化ぶんかと  いうか  日本にほん的てきやり方かたが  あるようで、これには  充分じゅうぶん  注意ちゅういする  必要ひつようが  ありそうです。

An American man has been excited to start a business in this town, focusing on the Kids English Conversation Class. However, a major company had already opened a similar English conversation class at a point a few kilometers away. It seems not to have been able to be said that it was too booming either. This man, of course, can read and write at the elementary school level smoothly, and I thought that the business would flourish soon. He misunderstood. Japanese is not enough even if it is necessary.

アメリカ人じんの  男性だんせいが、「キッズ英会話えいかいわ教室きょうしつ」で  起業きぎょうしようと  意気揚々いきようようと  やってきました。

しかし、数すうキロはなれた  場所ばしょで  すでに  大おおきな  会社かいしゃが  同おなじような  英会話えいかいわ教室きょうしつを  開ひらいていたのです。

それも  余あまり  活況かっきょうと  言いえなかったようです。

しかし、彼かれは すぐに  商売しょうばいが  成功せいこうすると  思おもっていました。

この  男性だんせいは  話はなすことは  もちろん、小学生しょうがくせいレベルで  読よみ、書かきは  スムーズに  できますが、充分じゅうぶんでは　なかったです。

Because it was already a large deficit every month, the wife of a Japanese who had a big belly rushed to our foreign support room for help. However, it is not understood at all by itself. So, after going there and having a lot of discussions with her husband, I proposed the following five steps.

大おおきな  会社かいしゃの  パンフレトを  そのまま  コピーペイスト（ベビークラス1段階だんかい、幼児ようじクラス3段階だんかい、小学生しょうがくせいクラス3段階だんかい）しました。
社員しゃいんは  学生がくせい  アルバイトです。

事業じぎょうを  はじめて6ヶ月かげつ  経たっても、生徒せいとは  まばらです。

もう  毎月まいつき大だい  赤字あかじ(損そん)ということで、日本人にほんじんの　腹はらの  大おおきな   奥おくさんが  応援おうえんを  求もとめて、私わたしの外国人がいこくじん支援室しえんしつに  駆かけ込こんできました。

しかし、それだけでは  何なにのことか  まったく  わかりません。

そこで、その教室きょうしつに  行いき、主人しゅじんと  いろいろと  話はなし合あい、次つぎのような5つの  ステップを  提案ていあんしました。

1st step  Why start a business?　なぜ  起業きぎょうするの？

What do you do the business for? We need ideas, concepts and ideas.

何なにのために  その  ビジネスをするのでしょうか。考かんがえ方かたや  コンセプトや  理念りねんが  必要ひつようです。ぐらつかない  土台どだいが  大切たいせつです。

判わかりやすく  言いえば、「世界せかいに通用つうようする  人材じんざいを  小ちいさいときから  育成いくせいすること」でしょう。

2nd step  Considering the situation in which Japanese society is located　日本にっぽんの  社会しゃかいが  置おかれている  状況じょうきょうを  考かんがえる

No matter how much you think about america. Only Japanese can read English but can not speak. Japan is the only country that does not teach English to elementary school students. However, under the direction of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, english classes from the fifth grade of elementary school will begin regularly from April 2020. The number of English words to learn is 750 words. Do you think that this is more or less? The municipal junior high school entrance examination requires the understanding of 1500 words.

English in junior high school will change a lot from now on.

So I think this business is in the middle of a good wind.

日本にほんで  商売しょうばいするのだから、今いまここでのことを  落おちついて  考かんがえるのです  (Here and now)。  アメリカでのことを  いくら  考かんがえても  仕方しかた  ありません。

英語えいごが  読よめても  話はなすことができないのは  日本人にほんじんだけです。小学生しょうがくせいに  英語えいごを  教おしえないのは  日本にほんだけです。
しかし、遅おそまきながら  文部もんぶ科学かがく省しょうの  命令めいれいで、1年ねん後ご（2020年ねん）の4月がつから  小学校しょうがっこう5年生ねんせいからの  英語えいごの  授業じゅぎょうが  正規せいきに  始はじまります。

習ならう  英語えいごの  単語たんご数すうは750語ごです。これは、多おおいと  思おもいますかそれとも  少すくないと  思おもいますか？

中学校ちゅうがっこうの  英語えいごも  これから  大おおきく  変かわります。

だから、この  ビジネスは  順風じゅんぷうの  真まん中なかに  あるのでは  ないでしょうか。

3rd step  Length management　自分じぶん にあった 経営けいえい

Is it also the management experience of a large company? At first, it is not said that it gives birth small, and then it raises it greatly. Two classes are good for the subject (only two classes can be done). That is, it is a class of infant (3-6 years old) and a lower grade class of the elementary school. 教室きょうしつ　のひろさは6畳じょう間あいだ（9.72m2）しか  ないのですから、それに  見合みあった  カリキュラムや  パンフレットを  作づくってください。

月謝げっしゃも  大おおきな  会社かいしゃよりも約やく1000円えんコストダウンした方ほうが  得策とくさくです。

4th step  Contribution to society　社会しゃかいに  役やくに立たつこと

Who in this town knows about you? There will be no recognition. Have some kind of connection with society and the community.

If you do so, business will naturally go in a good direction. Once a month, i recommended a lecturer to the “English conversation class for adults” sponsored by the city hall. Participation is free, but instructors are also volunteers. Many of the students were unable to go to high school due to the circumstances, or were forced to drop out because of bullying. When I was taught to think using your omnipotence, he proposed a one-word method of katakana English conversation. At first there were about 10 people, but now we have more than 100.

月つきに1回かい　市役所しやくしょで「大人おとなのための  英会話えいかいわ教室きょうしつ」の  講師こうしを  勧すすめました。参加さんかするための  お金かね用ようも0円えんですが、講師こうしも  ボランテイアです。受講じゅこう者しゃの中なかには、事情じじょうで  高校こうこうに  行いくことが  できなかった  人ひとや  いじめで 学校がっこう を　中退ちゅうたいを した  人ひとが  多おおく  います。

あなたの  全知全能ぜんちぜんのうを  使つかって  考かんがえなさいと  教おしえたら、「カタカナ英会話えいかいわの1ワード法ほう」を  提案ていあんされました。

生徒せいとの 人数にんずうは、はじめは10人にん程ほどでした。しかし、今いまでは100人にんを  こえるように  なりました。

本ほんにして  出版しゅっぱんする  そうです。
