How to get a checkup?：診察（しんさつ）を受（う）けるには？

This page explains a way of getting checkup for international residents in Japan.

この記事きじでは、外国人がいこくじんが　日本にほんの　病院びょういんで　診察しんさつを　受うける　方法ほうほうを　説明せつめいします。

Important notice：注意点ちゅういてん

１．Few hospitals can respond in English：英語えいご対応たいおうができる病院びょういんは少すくない

There are few hospitals that can respond in English, so you better go with someone who can speak Japanese.

日本では、英語で対応できる病院びょういんは少ないです。病院びょういんに行いくときには、  日本にっぽん語ごが  できる  人ひとと  いっしょに  行いってください。

 

２．The things better to tell in advance：医療機関に伝つたえたほうが良よいこと

For the following cases, you should tell nurses in advance.

・ Restrictions on treatment and daily life for religious reasons.

・Allergies

以下いかのときには、看護かんご師しに  する前まえに  つたえてください。

・宗教しゅうきょう上じょうの理由りゆうで  治療ちりょうや  毎日まいにちの  生活せいかつに  制限せいげんが  あるとき

・アレルギー体質たいしつ

Things you need to bring for treatment：治療ちりょうを受うけるために必要ひつようなもの

You can get treatment smoothly by bringing the following things.

・Insurance card (Health insurance card)

・Resident card or passport

・Daily Medicine *If any.

・A letter of reference “Sho Kai Jo” *If you have.

If you go to general hospital without a referral, you will be charged additional few thousand Yen. So, it is better to go clinic first.

以下いかのものを持もっていくと、スムーズに  治療ちりょうを  受うけられます。

・健康保険証けんこうほけんしょう

・在留ざいりゅうカード

・飲のんでいる  薬くすり（※持もっていたら）

・紹介状しょうかいじょう（※持もっていたら）

クリニックに  書かいてもらった  紹介しょうかいしてもらうための  紹介状しょうかいじょう　無なしで  総合そうごう病院びょういんに  行いくと、数千円すうせんえんの  追加ついか料金りょうきんが  とられることがあります。したがって、まずは  クリニックで  受診じゅしんした方ほうが  よいです。

Service hours and days：診察しんさつを受けられる曜日ようびと時間帯じかんたい

Generally, service days are from Monday (morning to afternoon) to Saturday (only in the morning), and there are hospitals with emergency rooms available at night and on holidays. Hence, it would be better to check on the hospital web or call for the ER in advance.

General service schedule is shown on the below.

日本の病院びょういんでは、月曜日げつようび（午前ごぜん・午後ごご）から  土曜日どようび（午前ごぜんのみ）に  診察しんさつを  受うけることが  できます。急患きゅうかんに  対応たいおうしたり、夜間やかん、休やすみの日ひも  診察しんさつを  行おこなう  病院びょういんも  あります。休やすみの日ひに  病院びょういんに  行いく  前まえに、ホームページを  みるか、電話でんわで  確認かくにんすると  いいでしょう。

普通ふつうの  診療日しんりょうびは、図ずの  通どおりです。

※Many hospitals do not consult at night and on holidays.
※夜間やかん、祝日しゅくじつは診察を行わない病院びょういんが多いです。

Ways of searching hospitals：病院びょういんの探さがし方かた

Here is a guide of searching hospitals. It would be fine to search by yourself if you understand Japanese, but if you don’t, you better ask support organizations.

病院びょういんをさがす  方法ほうほうを  紹介しょうかいします。  日本にほん語ごが  できるときには  じぶんで  さがす  方法ほうほうが  よいでしょう。  日本にほん語ごを  使つかうことができないときには、応援おうえん機関きかんを  使つかうとよいでしょう。

Search by yourself：自分じぶんで探す方法ほうほう

You can search on the internet or phone book or ask your neighborhood.

インターネットや  電話でんわ帳ちょうで  さがすことが  できます。近ちかくの  人ひとに  聞きく  方法ほうほうも  あります。

Use support for foreign resident：外国人向むけの支援しえんを利用りようする

Here are typical support organization that responds in foreign languages.

外国がいこくの  ことばへの  対応たいおうをしている  代表だいひょう的てきな  応援おうえん機関きかんを  紹介しょうかいします。

The AMDA Medical Information Center : 国際こくさい医療いりょう情報じょうほうセンター

The AMDA Medical Information Center provides medical interpreters on the phone and telephone medical consultations.

AMDA　国際こくさい医療いりょう情報じょうほうセンターは、電話でんわでの  医療いりょう  通訳つうやく、電話でんわ医療いりょう  相談そうだんなどを  提供ていきょうしています。
