Japanese convenience store will stop opening 24 hours a day
November 16, 2019 (Saturday)
Announced that the Japanese convenience store “Family Mart” will stop operating 24 hours a day.
From March 2020, some stores will be closed from 11pm to 7am.
Until now, it was obliged to operate 24 hours a day under the contract between the head office and the franchise owner.
However, due to the shortage of workers and the overworking of the owners, some convenience store operators started to stop operating 24 hours a day.
In the future, some convenience stores will not open late at night.
Some of the major convenience store chains, Seven-Eleven and Lawson, have also stopped operating late at night.
